Agua de Jamaica

Refreshing and delicious Hibiscus flower tea.

  • 8 cups water
  • 2 cups hibiscus flowers jamaica
  • sweetener of choice to taste


  • Place water and hibiscus flowers into a large pot.
  • Bring to a boil and let it cool completely.
  • Pour through strainer and transfer to pitcher.
  • Add sweetener of choice to taste. Traditionally white sugar is used but you can use stevia, agave, honey, or whichever sweetener you prefer.


There are various Agua de Jamaica recipes out there and a lot that are to make a concentrate with these ingredients. You could certainly use a concentrate but this is how my mom makes it and how I grew up drinking it and it's delicious!
